My Story
rock bottom to rocking it!

I'm not sure that it's possible that I was born with a love of property and interiors, but I honestly can't remeber a time that they didn't make me smile.  I would spend my weekends looking round show homes, visiting interior shops and having coffees in places that I could re-design in my head.  I don't think I even knew what an interior designer was back then,  so it wasn't what I wanted to be, it's just what I innately was.

Anyway, becoming a single mum at 16 made any thoughts about what I would be when I grew up on hold, my life became  about bringing up my children and being the best mum that I could be.

I always had a ‘show home’ looking home with beautiful interiors, my family would tease me about having candles they couldn't light and towels they couldn't use.   I didn't care, I just loved designing the rooms and I was good at it too.

As the kids grew older, I enrolled in university and earned a degree in psychology,  counselling and psychotherapy. Although psychology intrigued and fascinated me, my passion remained in property, design and interiors, it is what I longed to do.

Becoming a professional interior designer was exciting, I was finally on my way to fulfilling my dream.

... but life had other plans

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer,  and overnight was given less than a year to live. Life did change, but not in the way we had planned. Luke died 8 months later at age 48, and it turned my world upside down. I could barely  make it through a day, I spent them curled up just wanting the pain to end.

Living back in the real world and accepting my life without Luke, has been hard however it's the drive behind what I do.
